The National Art Center, Tokyo "100 Years of Birth: Hidee Mori, Vital Type"

The National Art Center, Tokyo will hold the first retrospective exhibition after the death of Eie Hanae Morimori, who became the first Asian to become a full member of Paris Haute Couture and a leading figure in Japan's fashion, in the spring of 2026, marking the 100th anniversary of her birth. Starting her career in the 1950s, Mori initially rose to prominence through the production of film costumes. In Japan during the period of high economic growth after the war, the appearance of having a family and accomplishing great social work as a designer has attracted attention as a pioneer of a new image of women. In such a situation, Mori proposed a new character image called "Vital Type" in the magazine "Soen" in 1961. His cheerful and unwilling appearance overlapped with Mori's way of life after that. Since his debut in the New York Collection in 1965, he has continued to work not only in Japan but also around the world until his later years. Through approximately 400 items, including haute couture dresses, materials, and works that will be exhibited for the first time, this exhibition reveals the full picture of forest manufacturing. It will be a unique opportunity to not only express yourself as a designer, but also to get closer to the fundamentals of life and creation. 【Event Overview】 Dates: April 15, 2026 (Wed) ~ July 6, 2026 (Mon) Closed: Every Tuesday *Open on Tuesday, May 5 Hours: 10:00~18:00 until 20:00 every Friday and Saturday *Admission is until 30 minutes before closing. Suntory Museum of Art 'Feast for the Eyes: Tableware'

At the Suntory Museum of Art, the "Feast for the Eyes: Tableware" event will be held from Wednesday, July 8 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. This exhibition features ceramic tableware from the early modern period, mainly from the Momoyama to Edo periods, as part of our core philosophy of enjoying the museum's core philosophy of 'beauty in everyday life.' About 400 years ago, it seems that in Japan, it was established in hospitality settings to seek out and skillfully use and enjoy ceramic tableware of various origins, shapes, patterns, and uses. Elegant large plates, elegant pots, and distinctive serving ....... When you pay attention to the design of such ceramic tableware, you notice that there are quite a few messages of good fortune, a sense of season, or a desire to serve with unusual dishes. Tableware was probably a "feast for the eyes" that brought even deeper joy to guests, combined with delicious food. The ceramic tableware favored by the Japanese was not limited to domestic products but also reached overseas countries such as China, reflecting the strong Japanese interest in tableware. This is a valuable opportunity to occasionally experience the hospitality of the time when such tableware was used, and to enjoy the shape of each piece of tableware. MoN Takanawa Opening Commemorative Special Exhibition "Round and Round Exhibition: The Story of Humanity Evolving"

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, "MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives" (hereinafter referred to as "MoN Takanawa)" will be opened at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY (operated by the JR East Foundation for Cultural Creation). As a place to connect cultures 100 years into the future, the opening of this facility, which aims to create diverse narratives from the experiences of each visitor, will be marked by the special exhibition "The Round and Round Exhibition: The Story of Evolving Humanity". The keyword that symbolizes the activities that MoN Takanawa will create in the future is "round and round". New cultures are born as different fields mix with people, between people, between the past and the future. The movement overlaps in the shape of a spiral that goes round and round. This spiral is the very idea of this facility, which is also reflected in the architecture and logo of MoN Takanawa. The special exhibition "Guruguru Exhibition" to commemorate the opening of the museum is the first exhibition to deliver this idea as an experience. With the theme of "Guruguru", a universal form that has supported the evolution of mankind, we will develop a variety of "Guruguru" (circles, repetitions, and spirals) that abound in the world, such as the cycle of nature, the renewal of cities, and the circulation of human bodies and thoughts. It is an intellectual entertainment where you can explore the diverse worlds such as art, society, technology, and traditional culture with an audio guide, and encounter new ways of seeing the world and living in the world. This exhibition is the starting point of MoN Takanawa's activities and a theme exhibition that symbolizes the future of MoN Takanawa. ■ Event Overview ・Dates: March 28, 2026 (Sat) ~ September 23, 2026 (Wed) ・Time: 10:00~19:00 (10:00~21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays) ・Venue: MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives Box1500 Organizer and Producer: MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives Sponsor: JR East Tourism & Sales Co., Ltd. Mori Art Museum "Ron Mueck"

2016-2017 Collection: National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2018 Bequest of Felton Exhibition view: "Ron Muek", National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, 2025 Photography: Nam Ki-young Image courtesy of Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea The Mori Art Museum and the Fondation Cartier Contemporain will present the exhibition "Ron Muyek" from April 29 (Wed) to September 23 (Wed, holiday), 2026. Ron Muek (b. 1958, Australia, UK) is a contemporary artist who has pushed the boundaries of figurative sculpture using innovative materials, techniques, and methods of expression. Created with close observation of human beings and philosophical contemplation, Mueck's works are sophisticated and full of life, skillfully expressing the inner emotions and experiences of human beings, such as loneliness, fragility and weakness, anxiety, and resilience. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions around the world since his participation in the exhibition "Sensation: Young British Artists in the Saatchi Collection" (1997) at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. The sculpture, which is made much larger or even smaller than the actual person, is also a challenge to our preconceived notions. At the same time, while it is close to the reality that it seems to actually exist, it also leaves an ambiguity that encourages each viewer's interpretation and reflection. It exudes a mysterious yet overwhelming presence, questioning our relationship with our bodies and with our very existence. This exhibition is planned based on the artist's long-standing relationship with the Fondation Cartier Contemporain, and will be held at the Mori Art Museum in 2023, starting at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, passing through Milan and Seoul. This is my second solo exhibition in Japan since the retrospective exhibition was held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in 2008. Focusing on the artist's major works, such as the large-scale work "Mas" (2016–2017), 11 works from his early masterpieces to his recent works will be exhibited, providing a deep insight into the development trajectory of his works. Six of these works will be exhibited for the first time in Japan, and it will be a unique opportunity to exhibit his early masterpiece Angel (1997). The exhibition will also feature valuable photographic and video works by French photographer and filmmaker Gautier Dublonde documenting the artist's studio and production process, revealing how Mueck's incomparable sculptures are created.

TOKYO NODE "Tony Ausler: The Gap between Technology and Gnostic ~Magic, Media, and Art~"

From July 3 (Friday) to September 27 (Sunday), 2026, Japan's first large-scale solo exhibition "Tony Ausler: The Gap between Technology and Psychic ~Magic, Media, Art~" by Tony Ausler (1957-), one of America's leading pioneers of multimedia art, will be held at TOKYO NODE, an information dissemination base in Otomon Hills. Tony Ausler (born 1957) is an artist known for his mysterious immersive installations that combine video, sculpture, sound, light, and words. He pioneered a style of expression that projects images onto three-dimensional objects such as video installations and projection mapping, and has continued to sharply question the complex relationship between image and story, technology and human psychology, belief systems (beliefs), and society. The world of Ausler's work spans a wide range of fields, from pop culture and subcultures to science, conspiracy theories, religion, paranormal phenomena, and the universe. Through poetic gaze and humor, the film reflects the desire and anxiety of the "invisible" in modern society, such as data flows, surveillance systems, spirits, and signals, and invites the viewer to take a journey of contemplation through the senses. The exhibition will feature major works such as Private (1994-1997) and Specular (2021), in which contemporary artist Jim Shaw also participated, as well as unpublished works that have been made into works for more than a quarter of a century, as well as the latest site-specific works for this exhibition. In addition, archival materials carefully selected for this exhibition will be exhibited from among his collection of approximately 3,000 materials such as science, magic, and unidentified phenomena, which are also the source of Ausler's creation. In recent years, the development of AI, surveillance technology, and generative media has significantly changed our perception and belief. At the same time, there is a growing interest in spirituality and unidentified phenomena. In this situation, Ausler's work, which has looked at the "gap between technology and psychism", now poses important questions to us. This exhibition offers an exciting experience for all interested in witchcraft, media, art, and technology. 【Event Overview】 Exhibition Title: Tony Ausler: The Gap between Technology and Gnostic ~Magic, Media, and Art~ Dates: July 3, 2026 (Friday) ~ September 27, 2026 (Sunday) Venue: TOKYO NODE GALLERY A/B/C Address: Toranomon Hills Station Tower 45F, 2-6-2 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo Organizer: TOKYO NODE (Mori Building Co., Ltd.)
