The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Minato City as well, bustling with many cherry blossom viewers during the day. On the other hand, for wrapping up a sightseeing trip in Tokyo or for business people who are busy during the day, cherry blossom viewing after sunset is also recommended. The time spent gazing at the illuminated cherry blossoms in the silence of the night is sure to be the ultimate luxurious moment. We have carefully selected and introduced spots within Minato City where you can enjoy such beautiful yozakura (night cherry blossoms). You can walk shoulder to shoulder with your loved one under the light-enveloped cherry blossoms, or take your time aiming for an artistic shot with a camera in hand. We will convey the charm of yozakura that is unique to Minato City.

Even within Minato City, the Roppongi area is where you can enjoy an exceptionally sophisticated night. Centered around the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, you can enjoy the yozakura at Mohri Garden and Roppongi Sakurazaka. As you walk through the city at night, cherry trees suddenly appear. That very gap might be the real thrill of Roppongi's yozakura.

Mohri Garden was the site of the residence of the Mohri family of the Choshu domain during the Edo period (Mohri Kai-no-kami Residence). The cherry blossoms blooming in this urban oasis include the classic Somei Yoshino, as well as the eye-catching, brightly colored Yoko, the lovely Maihime, and the serene Yamazakura (wild cherry). Illuminated cherry blossoms bloom proudly, as if surrounding the garden's pond.

Stretching your legs a little from Mohri Garden towards the residential area of Roppongi Hills, you will arrive at "Roppongi Sakurazaka." Blooming along the gentle slope of about 400 meters are approximately 75 Somei Yoshino trees. When in full bloom, the row of cherry trees illuminated by the lights looks just like a tunnel.

When you suddenly look up at Roppongi Sakurazaka, the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower towering into the night sky reveals itself here as well. This skyscraper, which opened in April 2003, is a landmark of Roppongi boasting a height of 238 meters. The illuminated cherry blossoms and the light spilling from the windows of the Mori Tower illuminate the Roppongi night.

During the cherry blossom season at Roppongi Hills, the "Roppongi Hills Spring Festival 2026" will be held for three days from April 3 (Fri) to April 5 (Sun). In addition to enjoying stages of traditional Japanese performing arts and powerful performances, gourmet food stalls offering exquisite menus using spring ingredients will also be lined up.

Akasaka Sacas, which integrates a television station, offices, shops, restaurants, and a theater, is an area where the entire town is enveloped in the splendor of a cherry blossom theme park come spring. Within the grounds, about 100 cherry trees of 11 different varieties are planted. Starting with the early-blooming Kawazu-zakura, in addition to the familiar Somei Yoshino, there are late-blooming varieties such as "Fugenzou" and "Kenrokuen Kikuzakura" that reach their peak from late April to early May, allowing you to enjoy cherry blossoms multiple times at different periods.

The first thing that catches your eye is the large, colorfully illuminated monument of the letters "AKASAKA." How about taking a picture of the symbolic AKASAKA and the yozakura that seems to rain down upon it?

Right next to the monument towers the skyscraper "Akasaka Biz Tower." When you look up at the yozakura from the foot of the building, you can enjoy a distinctly urban scenery where half of your vision is filled with the window lights of the office building melting into the night sky, and the other half is illuminated cherry blossoms.

The "TBS Akasaka ACT Theater," which was reborn in 2022 as a dedicated theater for the stage play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," was also adorned with splendid yozakura. Cherry blossoms decorate the area around the theater, welcoming those who come to watch a play.

On "Naka-dori" Street, located between Akasaka Biz Tower and the TBS Store, the "Akasaka Sakura Festival 2026 to Enjoy with Boona" is held until April 19 (Sun). During this period, Naka-dori transforms into a completely pink world through the "Sakura Illumination." Synchronized with famous spring songs, pink LEDs blink as if a flurry of cherry blossoms is fluttering down.

The area around Tokyo Tower is home to historic spots such as Zojo-ji Temple, Shiba Park, and the Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens. There are also many cherry blossom viewing spots, making it a very romantic area at night where the light of Tokyo Tower and the pink of the cherry blossoms blend together.

Getting off at Akabanebashi Station on the Subway Oedo Line and coming up to the surface from the Akabanebashi Exit, Tokyo Tower appears right before your eyes. On the day we visited for coverage, we were fortunate that a special illumination called "Infinity Diamond Veil" was taking place, and we were able to photograph Tokyo Tower in a cherry blossom-like pink color.

Tokyo Tower is beautiful from a distance, but since you are there, let's walk up close. The lights installed all over the tower make its framework stand out. The sight of that gigantic structure blending into the night sky is breathtaking.

Located in Takanawa 3-chome are The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, and Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa. In the Japanese garden that spreads out as if surrounded by these three hotels, the "Takanawa Sakura Festival 2026" is held until April 19 (Sun). Approximately 210 cherry trees of 17 varieties are planted on the grounds, allowing you to enjoy different expressions by period, from early blooming to late blooming.

Taking a step into the garden, it is truly another world. Walking under the illuminated cherry blossoms makes you feel somewhat like you are dreaming. In the beautifully manicured Japanese garden, the illuminated cherry blossoms were blooming proudly.

Further coloring the Takanawa night is the "Sakura Bamboo Lantern Illumination" themed around an "Orchestra of Light." Bamboo art with a cherry blossom motif lights up in sync with music, producing a fantastic space. It also blends into the scenery of the traditional Japanese garden.

Such harmony between the old and the new might be what makes yozakura look even more attractive. The peak viewing time for cherry blossoms passes in a flash.
